Buffalo Bills Training Camp Day 6 "The New Bills Offense"

The Buffalo Bills are planning to use the no-huddle offense this year with the addition of Free Agent Wide Receiver Terrell Owens as focal point of there wide receiver corp. Trent Edwards will have to use all his Stanford education to study all the game situations that encompass using the Offense during a large portion of a Football game. The most important thing is if Trent can recognize defenses and put his running backs and wide receivers in the right position to make enough plays to win football games. Trent will have to make quick decisions on the fly and to exploit weakness on the defensive side of the football. Much of the stress will be put on Trent who will approach the line of scrimmage with a called play, but has the option to change it depending on the defense scheme. The Bills no-huddle Offense under the leadership of Hall Of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly in which they only ran four running plays was very effective because, you had a great Offensive Line and a great Center in Kent Hull who could make all the right Offensive Line Calls. The Bills Offensive Coordinator simplified the Bills no-huddle offense for Jim Kelly and created multiple plays with simple audible calls from the line scrimmage. Trent Edwards has some serious weapons to work with starting with Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson as Running backs because theses two running backs can run a catch the which is very important in having a successful no-huddle offense. The Addition of Free Agent Dominic Rhodes will help Lynch and Jackson transition to a much faster offense. The Bills could have the best wide receiver corp in the NFL with Terrell Owens, Lee Evans, Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish, Stevie Johnson and James Hardy. This Offensive should be explosive and there is no reason why this edition of the Bills should not be in the top ten in scoring offense this season in the NFL. The biggest problem the Bills will have is a inexperienced Offensive Line with potential starters at Offensive Guard could be rookies Eric Wood and Andy Levitre. This could slow down the process in transitioning the offense into a no-huddle offense early in the season. The Offense Line will be the weak position on the Bills football team and the media and fans will have to be patient with there progress. Finally this offense involves a lot more communication which is another reason that the Bills are spending so much time on it. So, far the Bills have grasped the offense very well. The Bills have done a great job in practice with the offense. The tempo of the offense is similar to what the Bills will use during a regular season game. We will find out how well the no-huddle Offense is working on September14 when the Bills play they hated rival the New England Patriots.
