Buffalo Bills Players Still Support Trent Edwards
Though the faith in Trent Edwards among Bills fan base might be wavering, it is certainly not the case in the Buffalo Bills locker room. Josh Reed came to the defense of Buffalo's quarterback after another sub-par performance on offense. When asked if Trent Edwards will be able to pull himself out of a two-game funk he is in. Josh Reed answered in the affirmative. "He is a professional and that is one reason he is our starting quarterback. "It is times like this when you feel like you should be playing better that really makes you a pro. He is going to pull through this. Everybody goes through this type of thing. We just have to keep pushing."

Buffalo Bills Smashed By Pittsburgh Steelers 17-0
The Buffalo Bills lose to the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers 17-0 at Heinz Field Saturday Night. The Bills were without there flamboyant wide receiver Terrell Owens who missed his third preseason game with a lingering toe injury. The Buffalo Bills were out maned, out coached and overwhelmed by the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers had there way with the "Punk Ass" Buffalo Bills. Ben Roethlisberger had his way with the Bills mediocre defense completing 15/19 168 yd. in the first half. Big Ben led the Steelers on two offensive scoring drives in the first half. The first Steelers drive of the game was stopped by a Bills turnover created by Kyle Williams penetration into the Steelers backfield knocking the football out of Rashard Mendenhall hands and it was recovered by Keith Ellison. The Steelers came right back on there next possession went a 13 play 49 yard drive and kicked a 34 yd. field to open the scoring. On the Bills next possession Trent Edwards threw a James Farrior 22 yd. interception return for a touchdown. Trent Edwards was clueless for the second straight week he finished the game 6/13 31yd. 1 int. for a touchdown. The Steelers completed there first half domination of the Bills by driving 13 plays 87 yd. and it was capped of by a Rashard Mendenhall 4 yd. touchdown run. The Buffalo Bills finished the first half with 50 yd. of total offense in the first half. The only bright spot in the first half is that First Round Draft Pick Aaron Maybin got his first sack. The Bills first team offense has hit rock bottom because they have not scored a offensive touchdown this preseason. It seems like Trent Edwards has regressed to the point where he, looks like a rookie right out of college. The Bills are in total chaos and lack any type of respectable leadership from the coaches or players. This will be a long season for the Bills if Terrell Owens does not have a big year on offense. It is sad to say that the Bills a depending on a 35 year old wide receiver to save there worthless season. Finally, this is what happens when you have one of the worst coaches in the NFL leading your football team. Ralph Wilson made big mistake bringing back Dick Jauron as Head Coach because he, has just guaranteed Bills a tenth straight season without making the playoffs. The Bills finished the game 135 yd. and 8 first downs. The Steelers finished the game with 359 yd. and 20 first downs. The Bills were 0/8 on third down conversion and the Steelers fished the game 10/17 on third down conversions. This game should have never been played. The Bills should have forfeited the football game. The player of the Game is Brian Moorman.

Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson Wrist Ok
Though he was not practicing Wednesday the news was still good for Fred Jackson's ailing wrist and thumb X-rays taken on the joint were negative and there is a chance that the running back could even practice on Thursday. I feel good, "said Jackson. "It was a little scary yesterday when I first did it, but I feel fine now. That is always a good thing when x-rays come back negative. so I am enthusiastic about that and hopeful I can get back as soon as possible. Head coach Dick Jauron was also breathing a sign of relief knowing that Jackson is his starting running back for the first three games of the season while Marshawn Lynch serves his league imposed suspension. It was pretty sore, but we are really happy with the outcome, "said Jauron. "It is a sprained wrist, and it was just to sore to practice on Wednesday. I don't know about tomorrow, but we will see. But it is good news.

Buffalo Bills Fred Jackson Wrist Injury
It was scary for a few moments in practice when running back Fred Jackson went down on the tail end of a running play during Tuesday's practice and did not get back up. Jackson was stripped of the ball as he crossed the line of scrimmage during 11-on-11 work as Donte Whitner swooped to make the play. Whitner apparently hit Jackson on his right wrist and thumb, which was heavily tapped going into practice. The running back was in obvious pain after the play and stayed down while the athletic training staff tended to his injury. Eventually he got to his feet and went to the training room about 45 minutes prior to practice. Jauron said, Jackson wrist had had been sore and that the injured area was hit again on the running play. Fred got hit on the thumb and we are hoping that he is Okay, "said Jauron. "They took him in to look at it and they will probably x-ray it too. I don't want to say it is the thumb because he had fine movement in his thumb. I was the wrist area. Finally, the health of Jackson is critical knowing that he will be the team's starting running back while Marshawn Lynch serves a three-game suspension.

Buffalo Bills Aaron Schobel "Injured Again"
Bill Defensive End Aaron Schobel was not practicing on Monday and is expected to miss Saturday preseason game at Pittsburgh after suffering an injury at Green Bay over the weekend. Fortunately for Schobel it has nothing to do with the Lisfranc foot injury that cost him 11 games of the 2008 season. Aaron has a elbow injury and it may keep him out for a little while, "said Head Coach Dick Jauron. "We don't think it will be a problem for long, long term, it could be a week or so, maybe more than that. Schobel did not say at what point in the game suffered the injury against Green Bay on Saturday, but did explain just what he is dealing with. I hyperextended my elbow but I am fine, "Schobel said. "I just have to tighten it back up an I will ready to go. Having Schobel sit for this weekend game against Pittsburgh may not be the worst thing in the world as it will afford Buffalo's Defensive staff more opportunities to watch some other Defensive end who are fighting for a roster spot. Provided Schobel's elbow injury heals up quickly as he believes that the veteran defensive end should be available for the preseason finale on Sept. 3, but starters rarely play much at all in the final preseason game. I am going to take a week and then I should be alright, "he said. Finally, Schobel is a mediocre Defensive end and he is always hurt. The Bills should cut Schobel and start Chris Ellis at Defensive End.

Buffalo Bills Johnathan Stupar "A Real Surprise"
It is clear that the Buffalo Bills still have plenty of work to do before there regular season opener against the New England Patriots. However, in the 31-21 preseason loss against the Green Bay Packers backup Tight End Johnathan Stupar had a encouraging performance. Stupar who joined the Bills practice squad last September as a rookie free agent, caught a 9 yard touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick for the team's first touchdown in the third quarter. He also, had 5 receptions for 63 yards, marking the second week in a row for this distinction. It was a tight window, " said Stupar. "Said of the opening Fitzpatrick had on the scoring pass due to Green Bay's coverage. Fitzpatrick kind of squeezed it in there. I think it actually bounced off the defender and bounced off me and I just made a play on it, which was nice, It felt good to get the first touchdown. Stupar said, he was pleased with his performance Saturday, and he knows why is reaping some rewards this summer. He made sure he put in some additional time with the quarterbacks in the offseason to develop a stronger on-field relationship with the team's signal callers. That is something I have been working on in the offseason with the quarterbacks after practice,"said Stupar who entered the NFL from Virginia last year as a undrafted free agent with New England. We have been doing different routes and everything. It is about trust and they need to know that you are going to be where you need to be at the right time. That is something that is starting to come along with us, and I am starting to have ball thrown my way, which is kind of nice. The fate of Stupar is somewhat in the air. If the team chooses to keep four tight ends he will make a 53 man roster. If the staff chooses to keep only three, however Stupar could again be looking at another season on the practice squad, with Derek Schouman, Derek Fine, and fourth round draft pick Shawn Nelson ahead of him in the depth chart. Finally, I personally think that Johnathan Stupar should be the starting Tight End.

Buffalo Bills Slammed Green Bay Packers 31-21
The Buffalo Bills lose to the Green Bay Packers 31-21 in Legendary Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Bills played there second game without there Flamboyant Wide Receiver Terrell Owens who is out with a nagging toe injury. The Bills also, played without there newly signed first round draft pick Aaron Maybin who missed the Bills extended training camp because of a highly publicized contract dispute. The Buffalo Bills look like the worst team in the NFL. Trent Edwards was horrible completing 7/11 45 yds 1 int. The Bills Offense could not move the football with any consistency on the Packers new three-four defense. Dom Capers the new Defensive Coordinator for the Packers has his, young defensive playing with a lot of intensity. On the Bills first posession Brady Poppinga picked off a Trent Edwards pass and returned it to the Bills 41 yard line. The Bills Defense came up big with a fourth and one stop at the Bills 16 yard line when Keith Elision stopped Ryan Grant. The Bills second possession turned into a nightmare when Trent Edwards fumble the football at the Bills 5 yard line after a Johnny Jolly sack and fumble recovery by A. J. Hawk. The Packers Cash in the opportunity with a Aaron Rogers 5 yard touchdown pass on a quick slant pattern to Gregg Jennings. The Bills third possession ended with a punt and the Packers quickly drove the football 6 plays 79 yards and ended the drive 3 yard touchdown by Ryan Grant. The Bills fourth possession ended with a Fred Jackson fumble which was recovered by Brady Poppinga at the Bills 41 yard line. The Packers cashed in again with a Aaron Rogers 5 yard touchdown pass to Donald Driver. Aaron Rogers finished the first half 8/9 98 yards 2 td. and he looked like he was in mid-season form against the Bills hapless Defense. The Bills ended the first half with a Ryan Fitzpatrick fumble and Mason Crosby 36 yard field goal. The Bills opened up the second half scoring with a 12 play 60 yard drive capped off with a 9 yard touchdown pass to Johnathan Stupar. On the drive Ryan Fitzpatrick completed a 15 yard pass to Felton Huggins and 17 yard pass to Johnathan Stupar to set up the touchdown. Ryan Fitzpatrick finished the game 12/16 112 yards 1 td. 1 int. The Bills also, scored on a 7 play 60 yard drive that was capped by a 1 yard touchdown run by Xavier Omon. Gibran Hamdan threw a nice 24 yard pass to Johnathan Stupar. Gibran Hamdan also, drove the team 6 plays 74 yards and capped off the drive with a Bruce Hall 1 yard touchdown run. Gibran Hamdan finshed the game 7/11 137 yds. The Bills stars of the game Ryan Fitzpatrick, Gibran Hamdan, Johnathan Stupar and Xavier Oman had a excellent game the rest of the team was garbage. The Bills are the worst coached team in the NFL and Dick Jauron should be the first coaching causality of the year. The 2009 edition of the Buffalo Bills will not make the playoffs with this inept coaching staff. This team has not improved over the last five years, because this team lacks the discipline to be a contender in the AFC. The Bills finished the game with 363 total yards 5 turnovers and 11 penalties 118 yards. This is a typical Dick Jauron coached Football team.

Buffalo Bills Aaron Maybin Agree 5 Year Deal
The Buffalo Bills and first-round pick Aaron Maybin have reached a five year deal, according to team sources, ESPN Insider Adam Schefter. Maybin is expected to arrive at the Bills training facility in Orchard, Park New York, on Friday to sign the deal. He will not travel to this weekend's preseason game at Green bay Packers. Maybin, a Defensive End from Penn State and the 11 overall draft pick missed all of training camp. The Bills are counting on him to shore up defense that tied for the fifth fewest sacks in the NFL last season with 24. The agreement leaves two first round draft picks: Offensive tackle Andre Smith, who was taken No. 6 by the Cincinnati Bengals, and Wide Receiver Michael Crabtree, the No. 10, pick of the San Fransisco 49ers.
Buffalo Bills Backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick "Learning Fast"
Early in training camp there were concerns by observers outside the organization about the depth of the Bills truly had behind starting quarterback Trent Edwards. Both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Gibran Hamdan did not get off to the best start in training camp in late July. Fast-forward to Mid-August and Fitzpatrick has settled into his new offensive system with its up tempo approach and had a sharp night of execution against the Chicago Bears in Buffalo's second preseason game. Ryan is doing a great job now, said "Trent Edwards. "He is communicating very well with me when I am on the sideline and then when he is going in there he is doing a great job running the offense and that is a credit to the type of player he is. He is picking up the offense very fast and that is because he, is just a smart football player, that is why we bought him in here. Fitzpatrick does not deny that his play was not consistent in the beginning as he wanted it to be, but things are rounding into form for him. I fell better now than in the beginning . I am sure that will continue as the season progresses, "Fitzpatrick. "There will always be some bumps in the road but I will adjust. Fitzpatrick was extremely efficient against the Chicago Bears going 13-16 146 yards and a 103.9 passer rating. On the three possessions that he ran he put 10 points on the scoreboard and likely would have had more if Roscoe Parrish did not fumble at the Bears 16 yard line and Felton Huggins would have been able to come up with a fade pass in the endzone. It is definitely important, "he said. "Usually you will see more field goals in the preseason. You don't have many special packages. We had a couple on Saturday and the guys up front did a good job and that lead to success. He can put the ball wherever he wants, "said Edwards. "He can make all the throws. Finally, where Fitzpatrick figures to be most valuable however, is in assisting Edwards in diagnosing opponents and adjusting to the change ups opposing defenses will throw at Buffalo's offense on Sundays.

Buffalo Bills Cut LS Ryan Neil And Sign LB Solomon Elimimian
In a move that came sooner than expected, veteran long snapper Ryan Neil was waived by the Bills on Wednesday following the conclusion by the team's training camp at St. John Fisher. Neil was in a heated battle with rookie long snapper Garrison sandborn, who impressed enough during a three day tryout at Buffalo Bills mini-camp to be offered a contract. By the close of training camp Wednesday, Sandborn performed so well that he convinced the Bills coaching staff that Neil was expendable. The competition between the two specialist appeared to be a dead heat throughout training camp with many observers feeling that it would be a roster position that would go down to the end of preseason. Sanborn consistent accuracy matched that of Neil and he appeared to have superior velocity on his long and short snaps. Bills Head Coach Dick Jauron paid very close attention to special teams drills when long and short snaps were part of the special teams segment, even timing the splits from snap to kick on field goals and punts with a stopwatch. Neil had controversially replaced Pro Bowl long snapper Mike Schneck. Dick Jauron had said at the time that the team was making a investment in Neil. The Buffalo Bills sign Solomon Elimimian (6'0 225) was the WAC co-Defensive Player Of The Year as a senior for Hawaii in 2008 and finished his career as the school all-time leading tackler with 434. He has experience as a outside and middle linebacker. The Bills looked as though they would be down in numbers at linebacker this weekend for there preseason game against the Packers on Saturday. Both Ashlee Palmer and Pat Thomas remained sidelined with injuries and both are not expected to play against Green Bay this weekend.

Buffalo Bills Marshawn Lynch "Redemption"
Marshawn Lynch has gone on record saying that not playing will be particularly difficult for him in the first three weeks of the regular season this fall. There are few that like suiting up on Sunday and competing more than the Bills hard running feature back. Prohibited from playing or practicing from Sept. 5 to Sept. 28, Lynch already has a plan in place on how he, intends to stay sharp while he is away from the team. It does not stop me,"said Lynch."I am just not going to be able to participate with the guys out there but as far as working out, it still continues for me. Lynch will continue with his weight room routines to maintain extra muscle he has packed on his frame this off season and has some running back specific drills that will put him into action on his own. A lot of it will be runs, set up cones down the field making moves on them, individual work, running, lifting, continue doing the same things just not too many team periods,"said Lynch. But the Bills top back is going to stay in his playbook during his league imposed down time so remains sharp with his assignments when he returns. With almost three weeks before he is forced to sit out three games, Lynch has begun the process of getting accustomed to watching his team play without him. But he plans to have himself in the proper frame of mind for his forthcoming absence from the team. I have sometime to get mentally prepared for it and playing in these preseason games, I will get on the field,"he said. I don't think too much of it will be tough. When asked is there a silver lining of his three-game-absence could be fresher legs at the end of the season, Lynch gave a shoulder shrug. Well as hard as I run, I don't know if there will be fresher legs, "said Lynch."But they will be pretty ready. Stay out of trouble Marshawn.

Buffalo Bills Second Round Pick Jarius Byrd "Ready To Play"
Bills second round draft pick Jarius Byrd wait is finally over. After missing the team entire spring workout schedule and beginning of training camp on the non-football injury list. Byrd began practicng with his teammates on Monday at the team morning walk through. I have been waiting a real long time for this, "said Byrd following his first workout since mini-camp. It is finally here now and I just have to hit the ground running so to speak. Byrd wad taken of the non football-injury list Monday mourning. He had been placed on the list after signing his contract with the club on June 29. The Oregon product was coming off a minor surgery and was not ready to participate in practice. But approximately two and a half weeks after reporting to camp Byrd is ready to go. The second round pick ran with the second defensive unit in 7 on 7 team work Monday mourning lined up at free safety, a position where Buffalo coaching staff is hoping he can make a early impact. It is awkward being back there because I have not been back there so long,"said Byrd. " I am naturally behind just because of the time I have missed. It will come. It just takes time. I will learn and pick up things and learn from the older guys. The most important part is being out here now I have started that. His plan at this point is to steadily develop a on the field familiarity with the defensive scheme and his responsibilities in it. Right now it is slow and steady But as we crank it up I will moving kind of like a train and start off steady and pick up the pace,"Byrd said. Byrd felt that he was ready to begin practice last week but the athletic trainer pushed it back until Monday. The cornerback turned safety physically feels all that has to happen now is to get my body re-acclimated to football type movements. Finally, Byrd should help out a improving Bills secondary with fellow draft pick Ellis Lankster. The Bills have drafted extremely well over the last three years when it comes to the secondary.

Buffalo Bills Rookies Lankster, Harris, Nelson
What made the Buffalo Bills the most dominate to in the AFC in the 1990's is that they always had some great late round draft picks that contributed to the football team's success. The Buffalo Bills may have hit the jackpot this year with rookies Shawn Nelson, Nick Harris and Ellis Lankster. Ellis Lankster is seventh round draft pick, fifth round pick Shawn Nelson, fourth round pick made the presence known int he Bills 27-20 victory over the Chicago Bears. Ellis Lankster has been the biggest surprise during training camp and it has carried over into the two pre-season football games. Lankster put on a show at Ralph Wilson stadium, twice intercepting Bears backup quarterback Brent Basnez in a span of 64 seconds early in the fourth quarter. Both interceptions lead the game clinching touchdowns. I was just reading it right and reading my man, "Lankster said. "of his first interception. "He just threw the ball to my man and I picked it off." Starting Cornerback Leodis McKelvin who had another one of the Bills four interceptions in the game, has been impressed with Lankster's performance in practice as well in the preseason games. Said,"Lankster. "I have been working hard and praying and it has been coming to me. Overall, I am just trying to make the team. In the first quarter Nick Harris broke up a Jay Cutler pass down by the goal line to stop a drive. I am just trying to hone in and zero in on things that I am deficient in and make myself more profecient, Harris said". "At the end of the day. I am going to get better on a weekly, daily, and hourly basis. Harris also, stopped a potential touchdown drive by sacking Chicago Bears backup quarterback Caleb Manie on third down. That forced the Bills to settle for a field goal. In the fourth quarter Shawn Nelson caught a pass in the corner of the endzone from quarterback Girban Hamdan for a touchdown. Shawn Nelson is a Big Man - said, "Head Coach Dick Jauron. That is a tough defensive play to have to make-to cover the endzone with a six foot, six inch receiver. Nelson said he feels that he has made some progress since the first preseason game, and noted some aspects to continue to work on at training camp. The number one thing I noticed is that I was more comfortable in this game than the last game, "said Nelson."Last Game, My first NFL Game, I was nervous. I think I did alright, but I did even better this game. I just want to be comfortable, come out, and play hard. Finally, the Bills have a great future with these rookies. Where is Arron Maybin.

Buffalo Bills Defeat Chicago Bears 27-20
The Buffalo Bills Defeat Chicago Bears 27-20 in the second pre-season game of the year. The Bills played this game without the flamboyant Wide Receiver Terrell Owens who did not play because of a toe injury suffered in the Hall Of Fame Game against the Tennessee Titans. Ryan exploited the Bears secondary by throwing short passes to Tight End John Stupar and Roscoe Parrish and Justin Jenkins. John Stupar lead the with 6 rec. 56 yards and has been one of the surprise this of pre-season and could be the missing part to the Bills struggling offense inside the Red Zone. Ryan Fitzpatrick lead the Bills on a 8 play 37 yard drive after a Bears turnover which ended the first half with Rian Lindell 20 yard field goal. The Bills opened the second half with Ryan Fitzpatrick lead 10 play 75 yard drive which lasted 9:31. The Bills scored a touchdown Dominic Rhodes 3 yard run. Terrell Owens Will Not Play Against the Chicago Bears
Terrell Owens "Toe" will likely prevent him from giving it a go Saturday Night as the veteran receiver for all intent and purposes ruled out of the Bills second pre-season game against the Chicago Bears in Ralph Wilson Stadium. No I don't think so, " said Head Coach Dick Jauron when asked if Terrell Owens will play Saturday Night. (Head Trainer Bud Carpenter) he is improving and improving a lot but we are not going to take a chance with it. Owens missed practice again Thursday night, the third practice since suffering a sprained toe in last Sunday Hall Of Fame Game. Earlier on the day Owens tweeted on his Twitter account that he could possibly be back to practice on Monday, and Jauron did not deny the accuracy of that timetable. Bud (Carpenter) and I have not really talked about but I am sure Bud's talked to him. You know I have been out there, we have kept him off the field as you well know, so I have not seen him a lot. I am out there and he is inside getting treatment it is as often as he can but as far as I know it is coming along well. No word if Owens will be on the sidelines or in the press box for Saturday pre-season game at Ralph Wilson Stadium

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Day 14 Without Terrell Owens
There was no Terrell Owens at practice for the Bills Tuesday evening as a sprained toe kept him from practing. He has got a sprained toe and he is day to day said,"Head Coach Dick Jauron. It happened in the game. he is not certain when he did it. Owens was not present at practice but, he did sign autographs before going into the training room for treatment. Jauron was asked if Owens required surgery on the toe. He has got a sprained toe and is day to day and we have not even discussed that, said Jauron. Either way the practice looked a little bit different without the dynamic wide receiver. I was surprised said, Trent Edwards I did not know that he was in that situation, but it gives us a chance for other guys to step up and make plays. I like having Stevie Johnson back out there. I know that Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish are happy for opportunities to get back out there and take some reps with me. We all know what type of player he is and what type of player he has been through his whole career said Jauron. So, when he is not on the field you are aware that he is not on the field. so, Yeah it is different. The Bills Head Coach said, it is early to determine if Owens will be able to play in Saturday Preseason game against the Chicago Bears. Highlights of Tuesday night practice. Girbran Hamdan hit Roscoe Parrish on a 40 yard touchdown. Trent Edwards threw a 25 yard touchdown to Lee Evans placed over his right shoulder. Fred Jackson had a nice run down the sidelines. The Bills also, signed Christian Gaddis who is familiar with the Bills Offensive staff. He spent 2007 with the club, first as a member of the team's practice squad before being called up to the active roster for the last seven weeks of the regular season. Buffalo Bills lose Tennessee Titians 21-18 In Hall Of Fame Game
The Buffalo Bills lose to the Tennessee Titians 21-18 in the Annual Hall Of Fame Game. The Buffalo Bills and there "Incompetent Coach Dick Jauron" kicked off the pre-season by being embarrassed by school yard fake punt by A.J. Trappasso for a 40 yard touchdown. The first string defense had a serous problem trying to Titians Offense. Kerry Collins executed the Titians offense played extremely well for a opening pre-season football game. Collins drove the Titians 73 yards for touchdown on the second possession of the football game. The Drive was capped off by a five yard touchdown run by Lindell White. Vince Young capped off a 7 play 37 yard drive with a 5 yard touchdown pass to Paul Williams after a Bruce Hall fumble. This Bills Defense could not stop the pass or the run and it seemed like the Titians are a much better football team then the Buffalo Bills. The Bills second string Defense with the help of starter Leodis McKelvin intercepted a pass from Vince Young and he returned it to the Titians 43 yard line. The Bills touchdown came when Reggie Corner 26 yard interception return of a Allen Mortensen pass late in the third quarter. The Buffalo Bills first string offense had some success moving the football 9 plays 50 yards until Trent Edwards threw a interception to Michael Griffin inside the Titian's 10 yard line. Trent Edwards completed 3 0f 4 34 yards and threw two passes to Terrell Owens for 27 yards and he, also completed a nice pass over the middle to Tight End Derrick Fine for 7 yards. The Bills second string offense had a chance to score a touchdown after the Leodis McKelvin interception but the drive stalled at the five yard line when on fourth and two Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a pass into the end zone to Roscoe Parrish and the pass fell incomplete. Ryan Fitzpatrick was 6 of 11 61 yards and Girban Hamdan had a solid game he was 11 of 13 89 yards. The Bills scored on three Ryan Lindell field goals of 20, 46 and 52 yards. The Buffalo Bills stars of the game were Guards Eric Wood and Andy Levitre who played a solid football game. The rookies did not make any noticeable mistakes that hurt football team. I also, thought that linebackers Nick Harris and Alvin Bowen played a solid football game and will be excellent reserves for the Buffalo Bills.

Bruce Smith And Ralph Wilson Jr. 2009 Pro Football Hall Of Fame Class
For Buffalo Bills fans, this weekend is almost like winning a Super Bowl with the induction into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame of Ralph Wilson Jr. and Bruce Smith in Canton, Ohio Saturday Evening. Bruce Smith was drafted number one overall in the 1985 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. Bruce was stand out Defensive Linemen at Virgina Tech where he, won the prestigious Outland Trophy as a Consensus All-American Football player. Bruce "God" Smith was the greatest defensive end of all-time he, played 19 seasons in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills (1985-1999) and the Redskins (2000-2003). Bruce quickly established himself as one of the premiere Defensive Linemen in the NFL by winning NFL Defensive Rookie Of The Year by the NFL Players Association. I went to Bruce Smith first game as a Buffalo Bill against the New England Patriots. The first thing fans noticed in the stands about Bruce was that he was overweight playing the Defensive End position. The Bills organization noticed that Bruce was overweight and Bills strength and conditioning coach and Defensive Line coach Ted Cotrell told Bruce that he needed to shed some pounds to rise to his full potential as a NFL player. Bruce lost that weight and became one of the most feared defensive players in the history of the NFL. The majority of media members say Bruce is the third greatest defensive linemen behind Deacon Jones and Reggie White. I disagree with the NFL pundits because, Deacon Jones played with a Hall of Famers Merlin Olsen and Rosie Grier. Reggie White played with a potential Hall Of Famer Jerome Brown before he, was tragically killed in a auto accident. Bruce Smith played with Jeff Wright, Leon Seals and Phil Hansen. The guys I mentioned Wright, Seals and Hansen played up to there full potential every Sunday when they put on a Bills uniform, but they were not on the All-Pro or Hall Of Fame level as NFL players. Bruce played under a tremendous disadvantage for his whole NFL career he, played in a 3-4 Defense which is not conducive for defensive linemen to make or create sacks on the quarterback. In the 3-4 Defense the outside linebackers usually, make all the sacks on the quarterback. Bruce overcame this disadvantage and still became the All-Time sack leader with 200 sacks and 13 seasons with ten sacks or more sacks. Bruce claimed NFL Defensive Player Of The Year in 1990 and 1996 and AFC Defensive Player Of The Year in 1987, 1988, 1990 and 1996. Bruce was also named to the 1980's and 1990's All-Decade Football Team. Bruce also, earned first team all-pro honors nine times and was selected to eleven pro bowls in nineteen years. Bruce was truly a physical specimen because, his speed and quickness was devastating and disrupted Offenses on a consistent basis. Ask Hall Of Fame Quarterbacks Warren Moon. Dan Marino and John Elway who was the greatest defensive player they ever played against and they will tell it is Bruce Smith. We as Bills fans know that Bruce Smith was extremely arrogant and he, always wanted to re-negotiated his contract but, when Bruce put on a Bills uniform on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday he played like it was his last football game. We watch NFL games today when the top defensive linemen come out of the game for some much needed rest on the sidelines. Bruce never came out of the game he played every play until the final whistle was blown. Finally, Bruce was a catalyst behind the Buffalo Bills domination of the AFC in 1990's when the Bills appeared in four straight Super Bowls. Bruce will be remembered by the Bills fans as a playmaker which is sorely needed on the 2009 Edition Of The Buffalo Bills. I would trade the whole Bills defensive Line for Bruce Smith that is how devastating he was to a opposing offenses. Tonight Bruce Smith will receive his Hall Of Fame Jacket and tomorrow he will be inducted into the Hall Of Fame as one of the greatest players to ever put on a NFL uniform. Bruce stop Driving while intoxicated. You are a member of the NFL Hall Of Fame.

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Day 12
The Bills have serious problem with healthy Defensive linemen. The healthy Defensive Lineman have been taxed during the first 12 days of training camp so, the night practice only went a 90 minutes. It was planned to be a little short, "said head coach Jauron". We didn't do one of the drills that we normally do. A lot of periods are timed, a lot of them are just numbers. So, if they go through them quickly and there are no mistakes we got done a little faster. Long snapper Ryan Neil even helped out getting some reps on the defensive line, with the second and third team so the veterans can get some rest. Jauron after practice offered some some brief thoughts on the amount of playing time the starters are expected to receive in the preseason opener Sunday night in Canton, Ohio. We think they will play pretty much like they would a regular first preseason game, he said. A couple of series. They will be out there though. They will get some action out of them. The Bills coach said that Andy Levitre and Eric Wood are likely to play a lit bit longer. Jauron said that there is a good chance that they will use all four of there quarterbacks in the game. Bills third string quarterback Gibran Hamdan knows with five preseason games this summer instead of four, that the reserve quarterbacks are likely to see more action. Justin Jenkins was the star of the practice making a leaping grab down the sidelines on Terrance McGee. Jenkins also, made a spectacular tip catch on Reggie Corner and George Wilson and waltz into the endzone. Dustin fox and Reggie Corner break up passes from Ryan Fitzpatrick. Paul Posluszny stuck Marshawn Lynch as he came through the hole on a running play. Newly signed Corey Mace lined up at Defensive Tackle with the third team alongside Derrick Jones.

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Day 11
The Bills had there first so-called fight between Alvin Bowen and Seth McKinney got into a shoving match early into a 11-on-11 scrimmage. A few plays later Langston Walker took on Bowen driving him back into the secondary 20 yards. It is about time of camp when everybody hormones are out of whack and the heat is bearing down on you and you start to not like the guy across from you, said Walker. But it just happens and coach is good about controlling that sort of thing. It is football, said Bowen. We are just having fun. We are on the same team and we are out here to compete. No harm, No foul. We are not taking it outside the field. Sometimes one person gets more aggravated than the other and it leads to that. What usually happens is somebody get beat and they are not happy about it and they don't know how to respond so they start something and it has nothing with football or the game, said Jauron. And if it happens in a game it cost us. Paul Posluszny and Kwakia Mitchell have seen a lot of reps in the first 10 days of camp. Not only are they first team linebackers but they are also the first team nickel linebackers as well. That is why Dick Jauron gave both of them the day off. As a result Alvin Bowen and Nick Harris ran the second unit at linebacker flanking Pat Thomas. Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish and Terrell Owens caught some nice passes today for Trent Edwards. Marshawn Lynch ran up the middle and ran over a linebacker. On the defensive side of the Football John Cotro had a sack and Reggie Corner had a nice pass break-up. Line-up changes Reggie Corner and Ashton Youbooty worked in and out and second team nickel as they both took reps on the outside as well.

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Day 10 Wood And Levitre In Starting Line-Up
The Buffalo Bills have made a decision early in training camp who will be there starting Offensive Guards and they are Andy Levitre and Eric Wood. Things could happen that could change that, like a injury, but that is the plan, said Jauron. The Bills drafted Levitre and Wood because they wanted smarter and tougher football players on there Offensive Line. The Bills coaching staff believes that Wood and Levitre give the Bills the best chance to win football games this season. We felt going into the draft process that these two kids based on there history and experience they have the smarts to be part of a excellent Offensive Line said Kugler. Kugler had Levitre and Wood competing against veterans Seth McKinney and Curt Chambers at the guard spots, both rookies fared well in the spring workouts and have held there own in training camp. The rookies took all the first team snaps on Monday. It's been good, said Levitre. There is good competition on the other side of the ball. I have been getting good reps and everything is a little bit faster. I am going against guys who have been here for a while, so you have to think faster. I love the competition. I am learning everyday, getting a little bit better. We have a long way to go, said Tackle Brad Butler. We have drafted guys and bought in guys that are willing to work hard enough and get better every single day and when the season comes around to get better every week. I am a older guy and both of our tackles are older guys that have played a lot of football so, they are going to have a guy on either side of him and they can kind of give them a little guidance and a little help, said Geoff Hargartner. Our guys are sharp guys too. They will catch on quickly, but if they need some guidance we have definitely got veterans on either side of them. I think that those guys are going to be good, said Stroud of the two rookies. I work mostly against Eric Wood and Eric's is doing a great job so far. You know that he, has only been here a couple of days and in those couple of days he is showing them why they picked him in the first round and I expect big things out of him. It is going to be a good group, said Kugler. They are pulling for each other and working for each other. We have got a long ways to go, but we are working hard to get there.

Training Camp Day 9 Marshawn Lynch Suspension Upheld
Marshawn Lynch suspension for the first three games of the regular season is now NFL law after NFL spokesman issued a statement by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has upheld the Suspension of Marshawn Lynch. Lynch had appealed the three game suspension for the violation of the league personal conduct policy that was handed down in March this past spring, Goodell saw no reason to change it. Lynch will miss games between the Patriots, Bucs and Saints. It is the league policy and we are obviously disappointed said head coach Dick Jauron. We lose a real good football player for three games. Hopefully we hope that Marshawn will learn a great deal form it. He is a guy we have a great belief in and we really like this man on our team but he is paying a price. His teammates will miss him in the line-up. It is obviously a disappointment said Trent Edwards We are going to miss him a lot, he is a big time player for us and a Pro Bowl caliber running back. We will open up holes for those guys and make some plays. Unfortunately Marshawn won't be there, but we have guys who will step up. It is tough that he has to go through that, But I think he is going to learn a lesson and move on from there. Jauron confirmed that Fred Jackson however, will be the Bills number one running back for those first three games regular season games. Going into the season unless something happens it would be Freddy he said. Freddy would be the starter. But both will be playing a lot.

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Day 8
The Buffalo Bills on training camp day 8 the Bills practiced real game situations with the offense and defense. The first drive the bills offense was stopped by Bills the defense. The Bills quarterback Trent Edwards completed two passes to Derek Schouman and also beat the blitz and completed a short pass to Josh Reed. Edwards also completed a pass to Lee Evans because he had a mismatch against Kawika Mitchell. The defense got a important sack from Chris Kelsay to stop the progress of the drive. The Bills had one more play in the drive and Edwards threw a deep pass to Terrell Owens who laid out for the ball but the pass fell incomplete. I thought that both sides had there moments today, said Jauron. The offense executed well enough and the defense made plays. I really like the drill but would like to extend it and force them to make more calls and force them to go when they are tired and push the drill down field. I enjoy watching the new Offense line unit Hargartner, Wood and Levitre because they seem to be a more mobile offense line with the two rookies. Andy Levitre got all the first team reps because Curt Chambers did not practice. The Bills fans will love Eric Wood because he, was solid all day against Marcus Stroud. The fans are going to fall in love with Eric Wood strength and toughness. The Bills signed Corey Mace and Antwain Spann who spent most of there time on the practice squad. Spann got time with the third team defense and Mace got ten plays on Defense. The highlights of the practice was Marshwan Lynch had some nice gains behind the solid offense line blocking of Wood and Levitre. Lee Evans caught a deep pass on Leodis 'Toast" McKelvin for 30 yards down the sidelines. Terrell Owens caught a quick five yard touchdown pass from Trent Edwards. I have also, been impressed with the Bills defensive Backfield play during the first week of practice. they have some solid Defensive backs and there will be some tough decisions to see who will make the final 53 man roster.
